The Gateway Rotary Club along with County Commissioner Wawi Tijerina helped provide free backpacks and school supplies to kids in need at the Larga Vista Community Center.
Over 200 children received a backpack filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year.
The director of the Larga Vista Community Center Greb B. Araiza says that these donations are very helpful for those families who cannot afford these items.
Not only did children receive free supplies, families also received information on the different resources available to them.
Araiza says,”Times are tough right now. A lot of families, kids need a hand. Especially when it comes to their education. And we're glad we can help out as far as a little push, with a back pack and school supplies.”
